"Maybe I can't... BUT CAPTAIN PLANET CAN!"
-Ted Turner on Robot Chicken
Believe it or not, Cartoon Network just announced that Captain Planet is coming back! Sort of... It's not a sequel or a reboot. It's actually a crossover with O.K. KO! I'll be honest, I enjoy O.K. KO despite only seeing a bit of it. Seems like a pretty entertaining comedy show with action sequences. Waaaaaay better than Steven Universe, at least in my opinion. So yeah, Captain Planet and Kwame are the only ones who are going to appear, which is kind confusing. I mean, how are they supposed to summon Captain Planet with only one Planeteer? I dunno, maybe he gets summoned off-screen or something.
Anyway, for those who don't Captain Planet is about an environmental superhero who protects the environment. How does he do this? By wrecking high-grade equipment and attacking people for dumping sludge. I mean dumping sludge is terrible, but I'm pretty sure property and vehicle damage is bad for the environment too. Meanwhile, O.K. KO is a show about a young boy named KO who wants to be a hero. So, having Captain Planet who is a flesh-and-blood superhero show up in the series works within the setting, at least to an extent. I just wish they didn't give Captain Planet hideous eyelashes...
I don't think CN / Warner Bros. really understand why people like Captain Planet. Cuz to me (and a lot of other people) we mostly like it in a "so bad it's good" kind of way. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are people who legitimately liked the show, but looking back at it now it has not aged well at all. It's not terrible show, but it is pretty out there and fairly condescending. Still, I think there's a certain cheese and camp value to it, so it is slightly entertaining to watch in that regard.
Anyways, the crossover will come out on October 9th. CN released a preview image on their Twitter: twitter.com/CartoonNetPR/statu…

My fondest Dragon Ball memory
So, recently Akira Toriyama (The creator of Dr. Slump, Dragon Ball, and Sand Land) died of a hematoma. I've always been a big Dragon Ball fan, and dug games where he's done the character designs (like Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger). So honestly, it sucks we lost the guy as he was amazing! Thought I'd share one fond memory I had of the series as it does correlate with the kind of content I put out! So, back when I was about 8-10 years old, DBZ was airing on Canadian television. For those who don't know, the Canadian dub was basically an extended version of the Ocean dub as our dub kept most of that dub's actors throughout it. Regardless, I got to the Ginyu saga and was having a grand old time... Until Ginyu gouged himself in the chest and stole Goku's body. At that point, I had enjoyed the occasional body-swap when it popped up in my viewing experience but this legitimately freaked me out! Yeah, you heard that right, I was AFRAID of a body-swap! Over time though, the rest of the
2024 Update on what's going on!
Hey all, Jam here! Just giving you an update on all what's going on. First off, you may notice that I've been posting A LOT of comms. A lot of these are what I've accrued over the years and have yet to post. There's a lot of them, if I can be honest. Almost all of them I'm proud of how they turned out, though there are a couple pieces that I wasn't a huge fan of. But regardless, I've got mountains of art from tons of talented artists and I'm sick of my Twitter audience being the only ones to see them! Speaking of comms, I'm not going to buy as many of them this year. I'm trying to limit myself as my rent went up. Does this mean I'll stop buying comms altogether? Of course not! But I don't want to go spend crazy like I have the past few years at times. On the medical side, I've decided to go back into massages and start up physio. Been dealing with some weird health issues the past few years that multiple tests have shown nothing on. So I did some digging of my own and asked the
Update: 10 Years of Jam and plans for 2024!
HEY ALL, JAM HERE! Yeah, geez, been meaning to do this update since late last year lol. So yeah, lately if you couldn't tell I've been trying to pump out more content for all da peeps! 2024 is kind of a big year for this page, it's been 11 years since we've been operation and TEN years since Jam was created! And I know some people may say "Wait, I thought LAST YEAR was the 10 year Jammiversary?" Yeah it's kind of confusing, last year was my 10th year of writing these stories but Jam was created the year AFTER I started doing them. He's really evolved as a character and that's why I'm trying to do a full on long-form story arc with him as the star on my Patreon. You've probably seen me post the first part of it on DA, but I currently have the Tournament of Change multi-parter going on on my Patreon: Monkey-Scientist | Creating wacky body-swap stories! | Patreon This is my THIRD attempt at a long form story arc after the Babylon arc and Monkey-Scientist: The Movie, both of which I
12 Days of Swapsmas Update!
Hey all, Jam here! So, recently I announced the "12 Days of Swapsmas". Basically, 12 body-swap stories based off pics I commissioned. 6 stories will be on my Patreon and 6 on DA/FA. Plan's still going through and I hope to have all 12 stories done for this month! I am operating a bit slowly though, I only have 12 stories finished so far out of the 12 and was hoping to have at least a week's worth of stories before the 14th. Can have a few more done before then, of course. So generally my plan right now is to get as much done before or on the 14th as I can. I'll upload the ones I've made daily, then during the week off I have on my holidays will write tons more to see if I can complete all 12 planned stories before month's end. With any luck, should be able to pull it off!
