It was a surprisingly sunny day in November, only a few days have after Halloween. I had made my way down to a local costume shop, looking for some spooky discount costumes. I figured that I should be able to find some deals at my local costume shop! I was wearing pretty plain clothes that day, including a red T-shirt, a pair of dirty blue jeans and a pair of blue-colored shoes. One could say that my outfit was rather bland, but my appearance was blander! I was your typical Caucasian male with brown hair and a skinny appearance.

Nothing about my body was super exceptional. Heck, maybe that's why I like the idea of dressing up in a costume so much, I get to be someone different! I was excited about the prospect of finding a really good Halloween costume, so I marched up to the front door of the building and looked at the sign. For some reason it read "Realistic Costume Shop". What is a "Realistic Costume Shop"? Aren't realistic costumes usually something you'd only get online? What kind of cheap costume store would stock those? I was morbidly curious at this point, so I walked up to the glass door and tightly gripped the door-knob. I turned and pulled the door-knob, opening up the costume shop. I peered my head into the shop as I stepped inside.

As soon as I stepped inside, I noticed that there was a severe lack of workers here. There was only one guy manning the till. Weirder still, everyone wearing a costume appeared to be flesh and blood. Be it werewolves, vampires, Scooby Doo characters, or any number of fictional being that isn't supposed to exist! Either these were just realistic-looking costumes, or these fictional beings were somehow real. Had I just walked into a Twilight Zone episode?! Ever the singular shop clerk appeared to be some kind of anthropomorphic canine. The fur at the top of his head had been expertly groomed to resemble human hair, though still retaining a wild appearance. Jutting out from his head were a pair of somewhat large dog ears. Adorning his rather small canine muzzle was a tiny black nose. The fur covering the top part of his face as well as his hair was colored blue, while his muzzle was colored white. Likewise, the fur lining the canine's ears and arms were also white.

Jutting out of his backside was a white fuzzy tail with some blue fur at the end that make it look like the end of a paintbrush. The canine-like creature wore a shirt with blue and white stripes as well as a pair of blue jeans. Something seemed familiar about the canine creature. This point was driven home when the anthropomorphized canine spotted me and started waving at me eagerly. I shrugged my shoulders and decided to go talk with the creature. I shuffled my shoes across the dirty tiled floors and quickly made my way over to the canine.

The canine storekeeper smiled as I approached his till. "Hi Jam!" I chuckled a bit in response. "You're only half-right! I'm actually James, Jam's human counterpart. We separated into two individuals after a lab explosion." The fuzzy dog-person smacked his forehead. "Oh right, I forgot! I've met this version of you though, haven't I?" I looked at the jovial canine's face, trying to recall where I've seen him before. Memories of previous, though small encounters danced through my brain as I quickly processed who the creature standing in front of me was. "Oh! You're Palette the painted dog! I remember you from the time we got destroyed in "Phantasy Star Online Episode IV". How have things been going?"

Palette grinned and snickered to himself. "Oh, fantastic! I got this temporary gig at this costume shop, at least until it closes for the year. We're practically giving these costumes for free at this point, trying to free up the inventory." I scratched as my head in confusion as I looked the painted dog in the eyes. "Free? What's the catch?" Palette chuckled in response. "There's no catch! You can trust me, dogs are the most trustworthy creatures on the planet. Ook--- I mean, bark bark!" I glared at the painted dog and sighed. "Well, I guess it couldn't hurt. Also, I don't think painted dogs bark." Palette's teeth began to chatter. "O-Oops, sorry! I guess I forgot. Anyways, try on a suit!"

I scratched at the back of my neck nervously as I walked towards the costume section. I had the strong feeling that this was some sort of trap. Any sane person would walk away, cut their losses, and just do something that doesn't involve talking anthropomorphic canines. However, I was far too interested in this bizarre establishment at this point to simply walk out the door and forget anything happened. I walked through the costume aisle, while glancing at various characters walking by me.

It was odd seeing cartoon and videogame characters trotting about a costume shop! Was I in some sort of dream, or just in another one of my surreal misadventures? Regardless, I looked around for the perfect costume, something I would wear all the time. That's when I found it: A costume of Yoshi the dinosaur! The dinosaur was green in color, while his belly and the lower part of his mouth were colored white. The dinosaur costume has a bulbous circular muzzle with a pair of small nostril holes at the end of it. Attached to the costumes feet were a pair of orange shoes, while a red and white saddle adorned its back.

The costume seemed to be of a rather fine quality! I knew I just had to try it on; Yoshi was one of my favorite characters growing up. I gripped the costume in my hand and took notice of the material's quality. It felt like silk, but had more of a rough texture to it. It was less like a costume and more like a body without a skeleton! It was surreal, almost otherworldly in terms of appearance. This drove me to want to wear the suit even more!

I gripped the suit tightly in my hands and ran over to a nearby changing room to put it on. I made my way over to a room at the back and pulled open the door. I put the silky one-piece dinosaur costume on a nearby stool situated in the corner of the room. I then decided to remove some clothing, so the costume would fit better. I moved my hands towards my shirt to unbutton it. As I did, I noticed something rather peculiar. I couldn't seem to find the buttons on my shirt! Not only that, but my shirt felt silky smooth. I looked down to find that not only had my clothing disappeared, but they had been replaced with the costume!

The silky smooth yet strangely rough costume covered all of my skin in its soothing embrace. The gloves of the costume only had four fingers on each hand, meaning my index and middle fingers had been crammed together! My previous shoes had been replaced with the dull orange shoes commonly associated with the dinosaur character. I struggled to remove the suit, but it would come off! Slowly, the suit began to zip itself up as the costume's hood began to overtake my face. My head was covered up by the hooded mask as the zipper continued its climb up my chest. The zipper eventually reached the top of my torso. Afterwards, the zipper started to gyrate and twitch about, before detaching from the costume and falling to the ground.

With the zipper magically removed, I was now trapped in the costume! I started to feel weird as my fingers started to twitch. The index and middle fingers on each my hand became even more cramped as they started to cling and merge with each other. My fingers fused with each other, leaving me with only four digits on each hand. The gloves of the costume fused with my hands as the skin lining them became rough and dry. My skin shifted and morphed taking on a harder texture, almost like scales.

The costume clung to my arms next, as my arm and the costume congealed together. The costume became my arms as it overtook them, causing them to become thinner and shorter. My arms were soon coated in green scales, just like my hands. Both my arms and hands were now rather small and stubby, much to my dismay. Soon, the transformation took hold of torso as it began to slim. My torso shrank in both width and height

My stomach became more rounded and slightly pudgy as the muscles lining my torso disappeared completely. The musculature I had built up over weeks of training was gone! The transformation continued as it moved down to my legs. The material of the costume once again fused to my easily transformable flesh. My legs became thinner as they decreased in width. As my legs shrank, so did my stature. The ground below me soon appeared much closer as I shrank to a much smaller height.

I must have stood at least 2 or 3 feet tall! I turned my head over to face the stool in the room, only to find that my head barely reached above it in terms of height! The transformation continued as the magical costume worked its way into my feet. I could feel my feet changing underneath the large orange shoes that now covered my feet. My toes tingled as they became covered in green, while at the same time shrinking considerably. My feet shrank inside of the orange shoes, which shrank as well in order to properly fit.

My rear started to tingle as my butt began to expand and grow. Flesh and bone expanded and stretch as did my backside. This new scaly appendage became pointed at the end, forming into a sort of reptilian tail. I wiggled this new tail through means of concentration, much like how an animal would. I then felt a crick in my back. My back curved slightly, taking on a dinosaur-like appearance. The transformation then moved onto my head as I felt the mask slowly overtake my face. My face pushed out and joined together with the mask, forming into a reptilian muzzle. The end of my muzzle became circular and bulbous, giving me a nose the size of a basketball!

Two tiny circular nostrils dotted the end of sufficiently supple snout, while my mouth sat just below it. My mouth was coated in white scales, any attempt to speak was met with rather bizarre vocal noises. My ability to talk had been replaced with what appeared to be weird mouth noises, the kind a parent would make to amuse their child! I could no longer use my voraciously varied vocabulary. I could feel the hair underneath my mask dissolving, leaving me with a bald scaly head! My eyes turned a dark shade of blue while at the same time grew much larger.

I couldn't believe it, I had turned into some kind of dinosaur! Not any dinosaur though, I was the popular Nintendo character Yoshi. I waddled over to a nearby mirror at the back of the changing room to get a good look at myself. What stared back at me was 3 foot tall adorable cartoon dinosaur! Most of my body was covered in thick green scales, while white scales dotted the lower part of my mouth as well as my bell. I had a cartoonish and very large round nose, while red rounded plates known  as "osteoderms" covered the back of my head. Orange shoes with yellow soles covered my feet while a red and white saddle adorned my back. My eyes were shiny and blue and my mouth was frozen in a weird sort of perma-grin. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't break this smile!

I was annoyed by this transformation, causing me to shout aloud. This shouting  sounded like the annoying chattering of a dumb animal! I puffed my chest in an attempt to look taller, in an attempt to convince myself that I was still tough despite my short stature. I stuck my tongue out at my reflection, in an attempt to deny what stood in front of me. When I opened my mouth, my tongue flew out of it as opposed to just simple sticking out. My long tongue stretched and gripped onto the mirror in front of me! In a panic, I tried pulling on my tongue in an attempt to remove it from the mirror. Unfortunately for me, my tongue was stuck! I pulled and pulled for what seemed like a hole ten minutes, until I finally dislodge my tongue. To my shock, my tongue recoiled and flew back to me like a boomerang! My long tongue smacked into my face, sending me reeling! I landed on the ground with a thud.

I flailed my scaly arms about trying to get up, eventually managing to get myself to sit up straight. However, as I sat there on my rear, I felt a strange gurgling in my stomach. My whole body tingled as I let out a quick grunt. Within seconds, something escape my behind! I turned and found myself staring straight at what appeared to be a dinosaur egg, my dinosaur egg! I was awestruck by the fact that I had just laid an egg. I stood up abruptly and tried to walk away from the egg, but it seemed to follow me around the changing room. It was as if it was magnetized to me, following my every movement as if I was its mother! Was I female? There weren't any physical signs to tell me what gender I was.

This changing room was driving me nuts, I knew I had to get out of her! I walked over to the door and reached for the doorknob, but found that I was too short to reach it. I decided that the only way to reach it was with a hearty jump. I pressed my dull orange shoes into the ground as I arched my scale-covered back. With a single bolt, I leapt into the air! As I did so, I found myself uncontrollably kicking my legs, which allowed me to defy gravity and float. With this much needed acrobatic stunt, I was able to grab the door-knob and twist it. As I lost momentum, I gripped hold of the doorknob while still pulling on it. As I fell, the door flung open allowing me to leave. I looked at the clothing store, and noticed something I did before.

There was something unnatural about the story, something manufactured. I hobbled back onto two feet and left the changing room, causing the area around me to change! Tables filled with clothing turned into tables filled with beakers. Clothing hangers that display the latest fashions now only displayed lab-coats. The dirty tiled floors quickly became pristine, which allowed them to show off their pearly white color. Those realistic characters were replaced with robots. It didn't take me too long to realize that this whole clothing was just an illusion, a facade! I had actually been in a laboratory the whole time.

Suddenly, I heard a maniacal laughter and turned to find Palette standing there. Over his blue and white shirt was a lab-coat. The painted dog cackled like a hyena as he looked at me. "Oh man, James! You are so easy to trick!" I instantly recognized that speech pattern. The way words were accented, that mix of both menace and silliness in his words, and the way he ended his sentences. That wasn't Palette at all, it was Jam! The monkey turned painted dog laughed. "By that look on your face, I can tell that you have realized who I actually am. Yes, it is I! The silly supreme simian of scientific superiority! I take it you wish to know my evil plan."

I shook my head as I didn't want to be a part of these shenanigans any longer. "Good, because I don't have an evil plan! Actually, I just wanted to test out my new transformation costumes." I sighed and crossed my scaly arms. "What? Come on, you look good as a Yoshi! Besides, I needed to see if the costumes actually weren't. Genetic re-modification suits are cheep, ya now!" I shook my head disapprovingly at the painted dog. "Look, you'll change back after a few days. The suits have a finite life-cycle, so it'll just pop off of your body after a day or two."

I glared intently at the painted dog, who continued to display a good amount of skill in reading and translating my body language. "If you're worried about Palette, he's in my body and tied up in a closet back at my house. I needed his lab due to it being more spacious and having the luxury of a really good holographic disguise setting. Having a building that can transform is so convenient! Don't get too mad, he'll get his body back... Eventually." The painted dog grinned as he wiggled his tiny black nose around. I continued to frown at Jam for being so disrespectful with someone else's property.

I was so angry, I lashed out with my tongue and threw it at Jam's lab-coat. I pulled it off of Jam's body and swallowed it, leaving the painted dog in casual clothes. "Eep! I can't be seen in casual wear in the lab!" The painted dog awkwardly covered himself, despite being fully clothed. Jam's one weakness was his lab-coat! That and being turned into a horse. With Jam being somewhat defeated, I decided to make my way back to my house. I marched out the door of the lab.

I quickly walked at a brisk pace, as my orange shoes kicked up dirt. Despite my small stature, I was making good time! Even though my new body had a rather petite frame, I felt full of energy. My small scaly form seemed to have a limitless amount of energy. While walking home, I thought of Palette being all tied up in a closet in Jam's lab. I knew I had to save him! Though I would have to do so, later. I looked back at the egg that was following behind me. First I would have some good ol' omelettes, then I would go save Palette!
HI GUYS! After like a month of not posting a story, I finally got one for y'all. Today's post was gonna be a mannequin TF TG, but I thought since it's already kind of a somber day (what with the election and all) I thought I'd post something cheerier. And here it is: A Yoshi TF! In this story, James (AKA Me) is turned into a Yoshi by "Palette" (Who is totally not Jam in Palette's body :D)

This is a silly post-halloween story that I just finished and hope you guys enjoy!

With some elements inspired by an RP I had with :iconpheagle-adler:

Palette's body (sometimes) belongs to :iconpalette-the-painter:

Jam and James belong to me!

I wouldn't blame Jam for... whatever his plan was. Me putting on a costume meant to resemble a bear wouldn't be too bad. And it's not just any bear, it's Flippy.

If Jam wanted to trick me into being Flippy, then by all means, let him. He'll get what's coming to him for crossing someone with PTSD.
